I'm so ticked. I just got done watching tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy. I can't believe that Derek choose Addison over Meredith. It's just wrong!

My IAAP Chapter hosted a seminar today. The speakers, who are from Michigan, arrived in Houston on Thursday. Yesterday, one of the chapter members arranged for them to tour the astronaut training facilities at NASA. I had the pleasure to be their escort on the tour. The highlight of the tour was getting to do the shuttle simulator. It was just awesome. Both the take-off and the landing were simulated. I was able to have the role as shuttle commander during one of the landings. I did take pictures during the tour, which you can view here.

I consider myself a dedicated hockey fan. With that being said, I did something last night that I haven’t done in a long time....I left a game before it was finished. I believe in supporting the team through both the good and the bad times, but last night was just sad. Erik Reitz was a healthy scratch, which means he didn’t play. When I didn't see him warming up with the team, I knew he wasn't going to be playing. Once I realized that, it was downhill from there.

I was able to get in to see my dentist on Wednesday. I had to get a new crown put on my tooth. The most painful part of the whole ordeal was the cost – over $460 (ouch!). It's a good thing that Thursday was payday for me.
When my dentist first looked at the tooth, he told me he could fix it, but I was going to keep breaking it as long as I wore my tongue ring. So the tongue ring is now gone. At least it was fun while it lasted.
They were nice enough to give me "before & after" pictures of my tooth!
Here's the Before picture. Unfortunately, you can see the big chuck that was missing since the picture is taken from the top of the tooth. The part in the middle is from the root canal.

Here's the After picture. It looks great!

Yesterday evening, I was eating a hamburger. When I took a bite, the infamous Tooth From Hell was reborn. The entire bottom side of the tooth on the side closest to the middle of my mouth broke off. I was not a happy camper. I was get at the dentist last Thursday for a routine cleaning. My teeth were fine then, so I don’t have a clue what happened. I’ll have to call this office this morning and find out what’s going to happen. I’m just tired of dealing with this tooth!

This past Wednesday night, I stayed up late working on some project procedures for work. Next thing I knew, it was already 4am. I only got to sleep for 1 1/2 hours. When I woke up, I went to take a shower. Water was flowing fine out of the faucet, and then when I went to turn the shower head on, nothing came out. I tried a few more times without success. I figured the shower head was clogged. I decided I would just take a bath instead. I disconnected the shower head and then turned on the water to fill the tub. I left to go to the kitchen to get some vinegar to let the shower head soak in while I was at work. When I returned to the bathroom, I realized that I hadn't turned off the shower head completely and had water all over the place. I had to call work and tell them I would be late and why. Fortunately, the project manager got a kick out of it.
Just another fun-filled day in the life of Julie :-)

I got one heck of a zing at the hockey game last Friday night. My friend, Mary Ann, went to the game with us. She’s usually a quiet, reserved individual. Miss Texas was there to drop the puck, and we were talking about how she didn’t have one ounce of fat anywhere on her body. I made the comment that some people are blessed with great bodies…and I wasn’t one of them. Mary Ann, without missing a beat, retorted “Don’t worry; you were blessed with a mouth.” The comment itself didn’t shock me, just the fact that it came from her. I have to hand it to her, it was a good zing!

The Aeros home opener was awesome! My boy is back with a vengeance. He got an assist on Friday night and a goal at the game in San Antonio on Saturday night. I was so happy (and proud) to see him back in action. My voice is still recovering from all the yelling I did, but it was worth it.

I had such a hard time trying to fall asleep last night. I even took an Ambien and still had trouble. I was just so pumped up about the Aeros Home Season Opener tonight. It's not just the fact I get to watch hockey, but also that I'll get to see a lot of people that I haven't seen since last season ended back in April. I've already emailed a bunch of people that have seats near ours to see if they would be there tonight, and all of them are. I was so excited to learn that. I also have a friend from my IAAP Chapter that is also going to the game tonight. She's going to carpool with us. I didn't want her to have to worry about traffic or parking.
As shocking as this may be, I've actually been working on my budget (yea!). Tonight, I get to splurge! I hope the beer is cold and keeps flowing.
It's going to be an awesome night!
