Last night was a great night for me. I finally was able to meet my friends Belinda and Sharon for dinner at Dos Hermanos in Pearland. It seems like it’s been forever since all three of us got together. I haven’t drank any alcoholic beverages is a long time, but I decided to treat myself last night. I re-introduced myself to my old friend, Tom Collins. That’s just a great drink. I was good, and only had two of them. I probably would have ordered more if I hadn’t been so tired and had to work today. Maybe next time, we’ll get together on a weekend and I won’t have to worry about going to work the next day with a hangover.

My family and I survived Rita. I hope everyone is doing okay. We had very minimal damage at my parents' house. I think the worse part was not having any electricity for over 30 hours. It's back on now and I'm so happy to have air conditioning!

They closed my office early today so we could prepare for Hurricane Rita. This just sucks! My mom informed me this morning that we would be going to San Antonio to stay at my grandmother's house while Rita does her destruction. Lori will also be going with us. It should be an interesting journey since I'm taking Ariel and my mom is taking her two cats and three birds with us. I hope the stuff I have in storage doesn't get completely destroyed.
Once I head out of town, I won't have internet access to blog. I'll post something as soon as I return. Until then, everyone please stay safe!

I think Ariel is becoming comfortable in to her new home. Here she is checking out my mom's new bed:

Well, one benefit of living with my parents is the entertainment of one of their cats, Smokey.

I must be training my co-workers well without even knowing it.
I have a small whiteboard outside my desk. On it, I have the countdown of the number of days until the Aeros home opener for this season (which is October 7th). I usually update it first thing in the morning, but that doesn’t always happen. My coworker at the desk next to me noticed that it wasn’t updated and went ahead and updated it himself.
That was just too sweet of him.

My cat bite injury seems to be healing pretty fast. The swelling has gone down, so I look less like a total freak now.
It's been crowded around the house this weekend. My stepdad's son and family stayed with us. I think Ariel handled it pretty well considering there was a lot of strangers around her. She makes me so proud.
Last week was complete hell at work. I'm praying that this week will be a lot better.
When I was shopping yesterday, I heard someone ask a store associate, "Where's the Customer Service for this store?" I thought that was weird that she added "this store" to her question. What other store would she be asking about? Then again, maybe it's just me.

Last night, one of my mom’s cats came in to eat his cat food like he normally does. At the same time, Ariel came walking through the living room towards the kitchen. I didn’t want to deal with a cat fight, so I picked her up to take her back to my bedroom. Right when I picked her up, my mom’s cat got done eating and walked towards the door to be let back outside. Ariel saw him and freaked out. I was trying to keep a hold on her when she turned around in arms and planted two teeth into my forehead. It really freakin’ hurt. I cleaned the cuts as best as I could, using hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, iodine, and antibiotic cream. I woke up this morning and looked like a unicorn with a lopsided horn. I guess the bite marks became infected. I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully the infection won’t worsen too much and I’ll be able to treat it with only antibiotic pills.
